"% off", "$780 off" and other big numbers

Ads and affiliate pages for supplements often quote enormous savings. Those figures compare the package price with a "retail" or list price that nobody actually pays. The bigger the reference price, the more impressive the percentage, but the amount charged at checkout is still $69, $177 or $294. The Breathe order page also uses countdown timers and "supply chain breakdown" warnings; those are pressure tactics, and the prices do not change when the timer ends.

Coupon sites and lookalike stores

Coupon aggregators republish codes from anywhere, and many have never worked. A bigger risk is a domain that borrows the product name plus a word like "promo", "deal" or "official-store", patterns such as breathepromo.com or breathe-official-store.
