"Male enhancement" covers a lot of different products: capsules built around testosterone herbs, nitric oxide powders and gummies with a little of everything. We have published full reviews of five of them, Vigortrix, Horsewood, Nitric Boost Ultra, IronPulseX and VigorHorse. This page ranks them against each other on what the labels disclose, how strong the research behind the main ingredients is, what they cost, how the refunds work and how much the marketing oversells.
Our picks at a glance
- Vigortrix: best overall (our top pick). Full Supplement Facts panel with every amount, a tongkat ali-led formula and the most consistent refund policy of the five.
- IronPulseX: best for a gummy with every dose listed. The only one with tongkat ali at an amount near the trials, but its refund pages contradict each other.
- Nitric Boost Ultra: best for a nitric oxide approach. Contains the two nutrients with the most direct evidence in mild ED, but publishes no amounts.
- Horsewood: the same formula as Vigortrix. Identical capsules on the label, with a messier website.
- VigorHorse: simplest routine, weakest label. One gummy a day, but nine ingredients share 82 mg.

First, see a doctor: erection problems can be a heart warning
Erection trouble gets more common with age, but it is not just an age thing. The blood vessels that supply the penis are small, so they often show circulation problems before the heart does. That is why doctors treat new erectile dysfunction as a reason to check blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and heart health. Diabetes, smoking, some medicines, low testosterone, sleep problems, stress and depression can all play a part, and many of these are very treatable.
So before anything on this list: if this is new or getting worse, talk to a doctor. Ask before taking any of these if you use nitrate heart medicines (nitroglycerin, isosorbide), ED drugs such as sildenafil or tadalafil, blood pressure medicine or blood thinners. The FDA also warns that some products sold for sexual performance have been found to contain hidden prescription drugs, which is one more reason to buy only from official stores. None of these five products is a treatment for erectile dysfunction or low testosterone.
How we compared
What this comparison is, and what it is not. We did not take these products ourselves, and we did not run a test. This ranking comes from reading each brand's official label, order page, FAQ and refund policy, and from checking the ingredients against published research and NIH fact sheets. Each product here also has a full review on this site, and every fact below comes from those reviews. Prices are the ones listed on the official order pages when we checked; the checkout page is always the final word.
We scored every product on the same five things:
- Label transparency. Is there a Supplement Facts panel, and does it give an amount for each ingredient, or hide them in a proprietary blend?
- Strength of the ingredient evidence. Do the key ingredients have human trials for this use, and are they present at anything close to the studied amounts? Research on an ingredient is never proof that a finished product works.
- Price per month. The price per bottle at each package size, and whether one bottle really lasts the month the brand says it does.
- Guarantee and refund mechanics. How long you have, whether opened or empty bottles count, who pays return shipping, and whether the brand's own pages agree with each other.
- Warning signs in the website and marketing. Claims that go past the evidence, unverifiable testimonials, leftover copy from other products and lookalike domains.

All five are one-time payments with no subscription, according to their order pages or FAQs. Nitric Boost Ultra is the only one sold as a single unit; the others start at two bottles.
1. Vigortrix: best overall (our top pick)

Vigortrix is two capsules a day, 60 per bottle. Its Supplement Facts panel (REV 11/25) gives an amount for every one of its seven ingredients, with no proprietary blend: tongkat ali, 10 mg of a 100:1 extract (which the label describes as equivalent to about 1,000 mg of dried root), horny goat weed at 8 mg of a 10:1 extract, and 20 mg each of saw palmetto, wild yam, sarsaparilla, nettle leaf and boron.
Tongkat ali is the reason this formula makes sense: a 2022 meta-analysis of randomized trials found it raised total testosterone, most clearly in men who started with low levels. That describes the ingredient in those studies, not this capsule, and trials used specific standardized extracts, so the label cannot tell you whether this one matches them. The supporting herbs have little human evidence for men's vitality at 20 mg. What puts Vigortrix first is everything around the formula: a full label, a support email on the brand's own domain plus a phone line, a single written refund policy, and a one-time BuyGoods checkout. Packages run $158 for 2 bottles plus $9.99 shipping, $207 for 3 and $294 for 6, with free US shipping on the larger two.
Pros
- Every ingredient and amount printed, no hidden blend
- Led by tongkat ali, the best-studied herb in this group for testosterone
- One consistent 60-day refund policy
- Phone line and brand-domain support email
- One-time payment through BuyGoods
Cons
- Some Vigortrix sales pages describe two other formulas; trust the label
- Supporting herbs at 20 mg have little evidence
- Returns go to Largo, FL, while the brand lists Orlando, FL
- Several lookalike domains (vigortrix.us, vigorttrix.com and others)
- You pay return postage

2. IronPulseX: best for a gummy with every dose listed

IronPulseX is one gummy a day, 30 per bottle. Its order page lists an amount for all seven ingredients: tongkat ali 200 mg; ashwagandha, maca and horny goat weed at 100 mg each; and beet root, grape seed and L-arginine at 50 mg each. Our review found tongkat ali at 200 mg to be in the range used in real trials, the only ingredient in this gummy that is.
That same transparency shows the formula's limits. Ashwagandha's stress studies mostly used 250 to 600 mg a day; maca trials used 1.5 to 3 grams; L-arginine ED trials used 2.5 to 5 grams, roughly 50 to 100 times what is here. It drops to second place because of the buying experience: the order page promises "no returning bottles", while the refund policy says to ship bottles back at your cost; the contact and refund pages list two different phone numbers; the references page cites ingredients that are not in the gummy; and we could not find a Supplement Facts image. Prices match Vigortrix: $158, $207 and $294 for 2, 3 and 6 bottles.
Pros
- Doses listed for all seven ingredients
- Tongkat ali at a studied amount
- One gummy a day, pectin rather than gelatin
- Free US shipping on 3 and 6 bottles
Cons
- Most other ingredients far below studied doses
- Order page and refund policy contradict each other on returns
- Two different phone numbers; references page lists ingredients not in the product
- No Supplement Facts image; sugar per gummy not stated
- Pressure tactics such as "only 247 units remaining"

3. Nitric Boost Ultra: best for a nitric oxide approach

Nitric Boost Ultra is a powder: one scoop a day in water, a smoothie or tea. The order page lists eight ingredients: L-arginine, L-citrulline DL-malate, beet root, niacin, horny goat weed, ginkgo, dong quai and D-aspartic acid. Arginine and citrulline are the two ingredients in this whole comparison with controlled trials specifically in men with mild erectile dysfunction: arginine at roughly 2.5 to 5 grams a day, and citrulline at 1.5 grams a day in one small 2011 trial. Effects were modest.
The problem is that the order page gives no amount for any ingredient, so you cannot know whether a scoop contains the grams those trials used until the jar arrives. The formula also has the longest interaction list here: it raises nitric oxide, which matters with ED drugs, nitrates and blood pressure medicine, and ginkgo and dong quai can add to bleeding risk. It is the only product here sold as a single jar ($69 plus shipping), with 3 jars at $177 and 6 at $294. The refund covers even empty jars; phone support is weekdays only.
Pros
- Arginine and citrulline have small trials in mild ED
- Only option sold as a single unit
- Refund covers empty jars
- Powder mixes into a drink
Cons
- No amount for any ingredient
- Most interaction concerns of the five (ED drugs, nitrates, blood thinners, niacin with statins)
- Sells the 1990s cGMP pathway as a new "manhood molecule" discovery
- Template leftovers on the website; weekday-only phone

4. Horsewood: the same formula as Vigortrix

Horsewood's Supplement Facts panel lists the same seven ingredients in the same amounts as Vigortrix, with the same label revision (REV 11/25), the same two-capsule serving and the same returns address in Largo, Florida. The only label difference is the sarsaparilla species (Smilax ornata instead of Smilax glabra), and there is no evidence-based reason to prefer one. Prices and the 60-day guarantee are identical too.
So why fourth? Because its website is harder to deal with. The contact page FAQ says a bottle has 30 capsules taken once a day, which is out of date and would give you half the labeled dose. The root domain shows a placeholder, with the store living at horsewood.us/funnelb3/. Refund timing differs between pages, and its search results are crowded with "horse gelatin trick" videos and paid press releases. The label lists no horse ingredient; the gelatin is the capsule shell. If you like the formula, Vigortrix sells it with fewer loose ends. Never take both: it doubles the dose and the cost.
Pros
- Full Supplement Facts panel with every amount
- Same tongkat ali-led formula as our top pick
- Same prices and 60-day guarantee
Cons
- Out-of-date capsule count on the contact page
- Root domain is a placeholder; store is on a subpage
- Refund timing differs between pages
- "Horse gelatin trick" marketing and paid press releases

5. VigorHorse: simplest routine, weakest label

VigorHorse is one gummy a day, 30 per jar. Its label lists an 82 mg proprietary blend of muira puama, maca, catuaba, green tea extract, caffeine (5 mg, the only amount given), ashwagandha, L-arginine, tribulus and horny goat weed. Each gummy also has 3 g of added sugar.
Nine ingredients sharing 82 mg means each one is present in a very small amount; for comparison, the maca studies used grams a day and the L-arginine trials several grams. The ingredient research itself is thin: maca has small trials on desire, tribulus results conflict, horny goat weed is lab work only, and muira puama and catuaba have no quality human trials. The sales page says "9 research-backed botanicals" and describes eight, and carries a licorice warning for an ingredient that is not on the label. The published return address has no street. On the plus side, the label is public, the routine is simple and you keep the digital bonuses if you ask for a refund. Prices are $158, $207 and $294 for 2, 3 and 6 jars.
Pros
- One gummy a day
- Supplement Facts label published
- Caffeine amount disclosed (5 mg)
- You keep the digital bonuses on a refund
Cons
- Nine ingredients share 82 mg, amounts not disclosed
- 3 g of added sugar per gummy
- Sales page does not match the label
- Return address has no street; shipping on 2 and 3 jars unclear

What the ingredient research really supports
None of these five products has a published trial of its finished formula. Ingredient by ingredient, here is where the evidence stands:
- Tongkat ali (Vigortrix, Horsewood, IronPulseX): randomized trials and a 2022 meta-analysis show modest testosterone increases, mostly in men with low levels or in older, stressed men. Results depend on the extract.
- L-arginine and L-citrulline (Nitric Boost; arginine also in IronPulseX and VigorHorse at small amounts): small controlled trials in mild ED with modest results, at gram doses.
- Maca and ashwagandha (IronPulseX, VigorHorse): small trials on desire and stress, at doses far above what these gummies list or likely contain.
- Horny goat weed (all five): its compound icariin blocks PDE5 in lab and animal studies; solid human trials are missing.
- Saw palmetto, wild yam, nettle, sarsaparilla, boron (Vigortrix, Horsewood): little human evidence for men's vitality.
No supplement here comes close to a prescription ED drug, which has been tested in tens of thousands of men.
How to give one a fair test
- See a doctor first and check your medicines against the warnings above.
- Pick one product. Do not stack two, especially Vigortrix and Horsewood.
- Take the label dose daily for six to eight weeks without changing anything else.
- Keep a simple weekly note of energy, drive and how often things went the way you wanted.
- Decide before day 60, contact support first, and ship with tracking.
Our verdict
Vigortrix is our top pick because it combines the most honest label in the group with a tongkat ali-led formula and the most consistent refund terms. IronPulseX is the choice if you want a gummy and value seeing a studied tongkat ali dose, as long as you follow its refund policy rather than its sales page. Nitric Boost Ultra fits men who want a nitric oxide powder and have checked interactions with their doctor. Horsewood is the same capsule as Vigortrix with a messier store, and VigorHorse trades label detail for convenience. None of them is a substitute for finding out why erections changed.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best male enhancement supplement?
Of the five we have reviewed, Vigortrix ranks first for its fully disclosed label, tongkat ali-led formula and consistent refund policy. No supplement matches prescription ED medicine, and new erection problems deserve a doctor visit first.
Are Vigortrix and Horsewood the same product?
On the label, practically yes: same seven ingredients, same amounts, same label revision. Only the sarsaparilla species differs. Do not take both.
Which of these has the most tongkat ali?
IronPulseX lists 200 mg of tongkat ali extract per gummy. Vigortrix and Horsewood list 10 mg of a 100:1 extract, which their labels describe as equivalent to about 1,000 mg of dried root. The extract ratio for IronPulseX is not stated, so the two are hard to compare directly.
Can I take these with Viagra or Cialis?
Ask your doctor first. Nitric Boost Ultra, IronPulseX and VigorHorse contain ingredients that act on the same blood-vessel pathway as ED drugs and nitrate heart medicines.
Do any of these supplements have a clinical trial?
Not as finished products, as far as we could find. The research covers individual ingredients such as tongkat ali, L-arginine and L-citrulline.
Which one is cheapest to try?
Nitric Boost Ultra is the only one sold as a single unit, at $69 plus shipping. The other four start at 2 bottles for $158. At the 6-unit level all five cost $49 per unit.
